Year 2 Teacher

After graduating from Salford university with a Journalism and English qualification, I went on an 18 month adventure through 3 continents. The trip saw some interesting jobs such as selling raffle tickets and working in the security team onboard a cruise ship. Arriving home, I needed to find work and so joined a teaching agency as a teaching assistant and I fell in love with life in school. I enjoyed working with children so much that after a year I got my PGCE with the London East Teacher Training Alliance.

I began my teaching career in Tower Hamlets in East London and got a job in Malawi shortly after qualifying. I have mostly taught in key stage 2 but really enjoyed a brief time spent teaching reception. It was a huge learning curve and a really and great opportunity to work in early years as a qualified teacher.
