I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2001, obtaining a BSc in Combined Sciences (Sports Science and Computer Sciences). I left university and taught English in Harbin, China, for two years. After this introduction in to teaching, I completed my PGCE at Warwick University and went to work at St George's in Cologne, Germany (where I met my wife Joanna). After two years in Germany, I moved back to England and worked in several schools within Leicestershire. During this time I held several leadership roles such as Science Coordinator MFL Coordinator and PE Coordinator.
In 2014 my family and I joined the International Community School in Amman, Jordan. Whilst at ICS I was instrumental in the implementation of the marking and feedback policy in the school and I quickly became Mathematics Coordinator, where I successfully tailored the New British Curriculum to suit the school. After two years however, and with the opportunity to work at BSG, we felt it was the right time to leave Jordan.
My family and I have been at BSG for two years and I have been impressed not only with the strong academic focus that the school maintains but also the emphasis the school places on the happiness and well being of its students. I have been fortunate enough to work as both Assistant Year Leader and Student Welfare Leader during my time here. I am extremely excited to begin my new role as Assistant Head of Our School as it presents a wonderful opportunity to continue and improve provision within this vibrant school.
I love football and I am a big Leicester City supporter. I also enjoy writing and reading Science fiction and I'm looking forward to improving my Mandarin and practising as much as I can. Travelling is also an interest for both my family and me.
