University Degree: BA Physical Education
After qualifying with a Bachelor of Primary Education, I began my teaching career in a rural town in Far North Queensland, Australia. After completing my first year of teaching, I moved back to my hometown of Brisbane where I took on a number of teaching roles across Key Stage One and Two. Five years into my career, I decided that I was ready for a new and exciting challenge and combined my love of travel with my passion for teaching and found myself in an international school in Tianjin, China. In addition to my role as Year 1 Class Teacher, I was also a member of the Junior School Math Team and one of the very first Outdoor Ambassadors for the school.
During my time in Tianjin, I not only developed a love for international teaching, but also enjoyed being immersed in a new culture. I am absolutely thrilled to be joining The British School of Guangzhou as a Year 3 Class Teacher and can’t wait to start exploring this beautiful region!
I love a good challenge both in and out of the classroom and I am always up for an adventure! This year, I challenged myself to improve my Mandarin and I aim to pass the HSK3 exam by the end of the year. Outside of work, you will usually find me running, hiking or involved in some form of sport.
