Lorna Hwang

Year 6 Teacher

I am from Napier, New Zealand and in 2009 I graduated from The Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Teaching in both Primary and Secondary education. I spent the first 5 years of my career teaching upper primary (year 7 and 8 students) in an Intermediate school in Wellington where I also served as the teacher responsible for music.

During this time I married my Husband Eugene and we began dreaming of living and working in Asia. We moved from Wellington to Johor Bahru Malaysia in 2015, where I spent the majority of my time teaching year 5 (with a small stint in Early Years, and Secondary Teaching English). In April 2016 we welcomed our son Ethan in to the world who is now 3 years old and will be joining Nursery in BSG at the beginning of the school year. We are all looking forward to being a part of the BSG community.

We are excited to be coming to Guangzhou and to explore China. Both my husband and I are keen travellers and love seeing new things and in particular, trying new and exciting cuisines. I also love music and performance, so am looking forward to exploring what Guangzhou has on offer and hopefully get to see some new plays, musicals and shows unique to China.
