Profile - Sarah Brewster

Year 3 Teacher

I graduated with a BEd in Primary Education from the University of Edinburgh.  I then went on to teach in Falkirk, Scotland for a year in the early years. I then moved back to England and worked for two years as a Year 1 teacher in County Durham.

In my previous school I had the opportunity to develop whole school cultural education through work with Unicef and the British Council. I was able to set up links with schools in different countries, I really enjoyed this opportunity and decided I wanted to experience international education first hand. This is my first international teaching post and I am very excited to be at the British School of Guangzhou.

I grew up in Northumberland and love being outdoors, I particularly enjoy walking my family’s dogs or going to the beach, even in the cold British weather!

I am passionate about working with children and whilst at university I worked in a children’s club in the Loire Valley, France. More recently I travelled around Europe by train and really enjoyed exploring lots of new countries. I feel very lucky to be able to combine my love of teaching and the opportunity to explore new places. This is my first time in China, I am keen to explore the local area and also to learn some Mandarin!
