Profile - Danny Davall

Head of Computer Science

I previously worked at Shelfield Community Academy, where we successfully introduced OCR BTEC qualifications for KS4 and Applied GCE in ICT for KS5. I became Head of Department with responsibility for changing the curriculum over to Computer Science.

After working at the Academy for nearly 10 years, I felt it was time for a new challenge. My son has worked in Guangzhou for the past 3 years and he informed me that the Head of Computer Science job was available at the British school I applied and got the position.

I came into teaching late after working as a department manager in a factory. I took the decision to retrain and qualified as a FA coach, and that led me into teaching. I studied ICT for my degree and completed my PGCE at Thomas Telford Academy. I became a PGCE Mentor at Sheffield Community Academy for Staffordshire University. My hobbies include walking, cycling and travel.
