Having completed my PGCE in 2009, my first teaching position was at Marden High School in the north-east of England, where I was able to develop my practice and work with a fantastic group of teachers and students. During my time there, I became Assistant Curriculum Leader and oversaw continuous improvement in results leading to the best GCSE results ever recorded in North Tyneside. Following this spell, I worked as KS3 Curriculum Leader at a challenging school in Northumberland, located in one of the most deprived areas of the country.
In 2014, me and my wife made the decision to move to BSG with our baby son to encounter and embrace new experiences; since then we have been joined by the birth of our daughter in Guangzhou who arrived in 2016. Since joining the school I have served in various positions such as Head of Year 13, Curriculum Support and Assistant Head of Mathematics. In early 2018, I was appointed as the Nord Anglia University Teaching Fellow of Mathematics; with oversight over the global direction of the subject within the organisation. I am also delighted to be starting as Head of Mathematics from August 2018.
