MUN got underway for the year with six of our students participating in the 2019 MUN Locals.
The two-day event, held last Friday, 20th September and hosted by International School Manila, was well-attended by international schools from all over the Philippines.
NAIS Manila students participated in several different UN Council meetings and debated a range of important issues including sustainable development in rural and developing areas, the protection of human rights in war and conflict zones and measures to deal with terrorism in North Africa.
MUN Locals, along with the other conferences organized throughout the year, provide students with opportunities to develop their research and public speaking skills.
More importantly, these events encourage students to think about issues and challenges facing the word that they live in and to develop actions that might go some way to resolving these.
