We were expecting him to have a difficult time adjusting to his new school, but surprisingly, with the help of his buddy, Seth, and the friendly and warm reception of other NAIS Manila students, teachers and staff, as well as a fully established wellness program in place, our son had all the support he needed in this transition and settling in period.
Jippy also quickly established close friendships with other students from different year levels and found “like-minded” friends.
In such a short time we also noticed that he was becoming a more confident and positive person with a growth mindset, unlike in his previous school which had a very rigid approach to teaching. He was not even allowed to ask questions in class, but in NAIS Manila his teachers even encouraged him to ask questions! The rigid atmosphere he experienced before put him always in “panicked and worried mode”, but now that he is in NAIS Manila, he has become calmer and has learned to strive harder to become a better version of himself instead of competing with others.
It helps a lot that his teachers at NAIS Manila have a positive approach to teaching and they are always supportive and even go the extra mile to make their students understand their lessons.
We are TRULY GRATEFUL to NAIS Manila for all the wonderful and positive changes we see in Jippy now! In fact, he says that moving him to NAIS Manila was one of the best decisions we have ever made as a family. His only regret is that he should have moved to NAIS Manila much sooner!
