Music has a central place in the ISM curriculum due to its ability to inspire and engage, even when our students have limited access to instruments.

Music within Virtual School has been very exciting with many different activities taking place including dance, drumming and singing throughout the week. We celebrate the work our students have posted during the week with videos we produce on Fridays that are really popular with students and parents.

Music with household utilities

The music team at Rosinka post three 10 minute music videos a day that range from singing to making instruments. We have had a good response from pupils, especially making their instruments. One of the first videos we posted was making music from the kitchen and playing along with the track. This included pots, saucepan lids, posts with rice in for shakers and the wonderful metal water bottles that make the best sound. Chopsticks, wooden spoons, knives and forks were used for drum sticks.

Rosinka Virtual Choir

For Term Three Rosinka will be launching the Rosinka Virtual choir. A backing track will be posted and pupils will have a chance to record themselves singing along to the track. Pupils will send their video to the music team. Once this is completed we will post the first Rosinka Virtual Choir performance, watch this space...

Rosinka Songwriting Competition

This year, the Rosinka Songwriting Competition took place online. It was open to Upper and Lower Primary students. Entrants were asked to write and record a song on a specific theme and send their entries to the Rosinka Music Team.
