All the children in Nursery to Year 4 are working hard to earn 'Fuzzy Bees' for their class Golden Jar

The philosophy

In order to further embed the Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures ast DCIS, we are using collaborative teamwork as the basis for our behaviour system, an approach which encourages collaborative success.

How it works

The behavior system collectively celebrates whole class learning and efforts. When the whole class, group of students or individuals are being respectful, good listeners, supportive, kind or working hard, the teacher will award a 'Fuzzy Bee' to be put in the class jar. When the class achieves 50 Fuzzy Bees, they get to reveal their whole class treat!

Each class has worked together to plan treats that they – as a class – would enjoy. The teachers then decided on four of these treats and hid them behind the panels on the jar so the children will get a wonderful surprise. Every time the class fills their jar with 50 Fuzzy Bees they get to reveal and enjoy the next treat.
