Our pioneering year 12 IB students have settled in well to the challenging programme and are now serving as impressive role models for our younger students. In addition to their academic studies, students take part in CAS, Creativity, Activity and Service. Initiatives so far include establishing a school newspaper, a project to reduce the school’s environmental impact and volunteering at the Singapore Institute of Mental Health. The students have also started preparing for their future and are working with our University Guidance Counsellor to explore options and make plans. To support this the students have enjoyed presentations from both local and international Universities.
We are also delighted to announce the continuation of our IB Diploma Scholarship. Successful recipients will have their tuition fee discounted by up to 50% for the length of the scholarship. We are looking for students with strong academic ability, excellent academic proficiency in English and a strength in one or more areas of the arts, technology, humanities, mathematics, science, languages or sports. We also expect scholarship students to have a readiness to undertake service learning contributing to the school and local community.
On Tuesday 28th November we will be holding a parent workshop at 8.45am in the Cooper Hall for those who wish to find out more about the IBDP and the Sixth Form. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
In the meantime, if you have any queries regarding the IBDP at DCIS, please contact our IBDP Coordinator Dominic O’Shea Dominic.OShea@dovercourt.edu.sg.
