Nina and Shaily from the external provider Blue Phish talked about how we need to adapt our view on screen time, to be more in line with the today's world. They introduced the concept DQ,  Digital Quotient, and how we need to empower our children's DQ so they learn to be safe internet users. The internet is playing an increasingly big part in our children's lives and rather than banning computers and mobile devices it is important that we teach them both what an amazing resource internet can be, as well as what the dangers are. Similar to not just giving a child the car keyes, letting them out on the highway and hoping for the best, we need to make sure that our children understand the rules and how to navigate safely before we can trust them online.

To find out more, please watch the attached recording of the workshop and visit Blue Phish's website, where you will find a lot of useful resources and advice. On Whats' Your DQ's website you can test what type of digital parent you are, as well as learn more about how you can help your child develop their digital skills.
