Nina and Shaily from the external provider Blue Phish talked about how we need to adapt our view on screen time, to be more in line with the today's world. They introduced the concept DQ, Digital Quotient, and how we need to empower our children's DQ so they learn to be safe internet users. The internet is playing an increasingly big part in our children's lives and rather than banning computers and mobile devices it is important that we teach them both what an amazing resource internet can be, as well as what the dangers are. Similar to not just giving a child the car keyes, letting them out on the highway and hoping for the best, we need to make sure that our children understand the rules and how to navigate safely before we can trust them online.
