Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,
I can’t quite believe that the last week of the school year is upon us. It has been a fantastic year which today was celebrated with the DCA Teacher Appreciation Tea. It was wonderful to see the faces of the whole teaching staff as they received scrapbooks from their classes and students they teach. Thank you to the DCA for such a fantastic and emotional afternoon.
Last week five of our students joined the Regional Scholar’s Cup in Kuala Lumpur and we are absolutely delighted to announce that 3 of our students have now progressed to the finals, which will take place in November at Yale University in the USA. We were also very pleased to welcome the Royal Regiment of Scotland band to the school on Wednesday where they were surprise guests at our Lower Primary assembly.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support across the year and we look forward to welcoming you back in August after a restful break. For those who are leaving us we wish you all the very best on your next adventure. Please do visit when you are back in Singapore.
Mr. Christopher Short
Principal

The Australian High Commission

Australian Passports
The Consular and Passports team at the Australian High Commission are here to help you!
Remember most countries, including Singapore, require six months validity on your passport for both stays and transits.
Don’t forget to check your children’s passport validity if children are travelling with you. Child passports are normally valid for five years and adult passports for ten years.
All passport applications made in Singapore require an appointment and must be lodged in person at the Australian High Commission. If your child is over 16 years of age, they must also present in person for the appointment.
Please allow around one month for an appointment and then a minimum of 15 business days for your passport to be ready and arrive in time for your travel.
For more information on passport applications and document requirements please visit www.passports.gov.au.
To make an appointment please visit our online booking system www.ahcsing.setmore.com.
Our top travel tips:
(tick) Check your (and your family’s) passport validity well ahead of your travel plans – getting a new passport can take some time so don’t let passport validity issues hold up your travel.
(tick) Check your travel insurance covers you for all aspects of your holiday – some companies require extra coverage for activities such as motorbike riding, skiing and scuba diving.
(tick) Check the Smartraveller Travel Advice for where you’re travelling to – all countries differ with unique laws and customs.
