I am very excited to be joining the BSB community. I’m looking forward to contributing to the work of this wonderful team of students and teachers.
I grew up in Burundi, a francophone country in East Africa. In 2010, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Université Lumière de Bujumbura in Burundi. Following my graduation, I worked for various Nongovernmental Organisations (NGOs), where I had the opportunity to work with teenagers on developing language skills and writing. In addition to my educational focus, I also worked at a strategic level by submitting development proposals to potential donors and investors from other francophone countries. These projects were focused on addressing the challenges faced by disadvantaged communities. This work has allowed me to stay informed about the needs within different communities and cultures. It has also helped me to gain new skills on how to mentor students with writing and speaking skills that I am very excited to share with the wonderful students at the British School of Beijing.
In 2019, I completed a master’s degree. In addition, I qualified as a teacher of English acquisition. My love of sharing knowledge and skills with young people ensures that I am always focused on my professional learning so that I stay up to date with the latest pedagogical and technical skills to support the students in my care. I believe every student is different and has a different style of learning and am passionate about inclusive educational approaches.
