Under 15s FOBISIA Games

A team of 22 Under 15s from The British School of Guangzhou went to St Andrews in Rayong, Thailand to compete in the annual Federation of British International Schools Sport Competition.

Over 3 days, they competed in swimming, basketball, football and athletics. They played against 5 other Schools - The British School of Beijing, The British School of Kuala Lumpar, KTJ from Malaysia, Bangkok Prep and St Andrews Green Valley, Thailand.  

Highlights from the tournament:


  • Naomi Olivotti and Wayne Chen came 1st in the individual medley.
  • Henry Wong was awarded joint 3rd Place.  
  • BSG won 1st Place overall, becoming the first FOBISIA trophy of the year for Secondary.


  • Medals won in the 100 and 400 metre races, javelin and shot putt, including Gold and Silver.
  • BSG won 1st Place overall again, gaining a second trophy for Secondary.


  • The girls team won 5th Place overall in the league after a tough competition.
  • The boys held off fierce competition with a gripping draw against 3rd in the league.  


  • The boys team miss 3rd Place by 1 point after a series of fast, furious and exciting games.
  • The girls achieve 5th Place after two intense final games against the best teams.

Every student showed incredible courage and determination to achieve what they did. With blistering temperatures and the best teams in FOBISIA, we showed exceptional sportsmanship, commitment, respect and integrity throughout the games. We would like to congratulate all who took part.
