The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

The ceremony celebrated students who have shown great commitment to the scheme, which develops leadership, self-discipline and self-sufficiency.

  • Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

At the start of the year, students took part in a series of activities centred on building confidence and developing key decision-making skills in young people working. Challenging physical pursuits are key to the award as well, but students also gain valuable life experience through community service, charity work and much more.

As students complete these tasks, they progress through levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold, and this week we were able to congratulate their fantastic achievements.

The International Award (IA) is a very beneficial stepping stone towards university application, as it recognises a student's commitment, responsibility, respect and integrity. It is accepted by many universities worldwide.

A huge thank you to Colin Wildy and John Joyce for running this programme for our students.

If your child is interested in joining the IA next year, please email
