The best type of paint is, undeniably, face paint - which is what we used in our STEAM week art lessons. We learnt all about how animals can camouflage, and about Liu Bolin, a Chinese artist who is painted from head to toe in order to blend in with the urban, city backdrops he has chosen, earning him the nickname "The Invisible Man".
Drawing from these two inspirations, we did some camouflaging ourselves, choosing images of the animal kingdom and surrounding environments to paint our arms with face paint. We used a sponge to add the background colour, working in the lightest colours first, then used brushes to paint on the darker details. The end results were pretty amazing, and we had lots of fun doing something that we hadn’t necessarily done before!
