I hold a Master of Arts Degree from New York University, USA. I graduated with ‘Honours’ and hold a teaching certificate in both areas. I also hold a B.A. degree in Psychology with a specialisation in ‘Child Development’ from Tufts University, Massachusetts, USA.
I have worked in a variety of settings that include local and international schools in the USA, Guangzhou and Taiwan. Upon completing my M.A. degree and working in New York for a short while, I moved to Guangzhou in 2005 with my husband and soon had a child. One year later, I joined BSG and there has been no looking back. I fell in love with the school, not only as a teacher but also as a prospective parent. My son has been at BSG since Pre-Nursery and every year has been a positive experience for him. I have now been at this school for more than ten years and I look forward to witnessing its continual growth and development.
Although Indian by nationality, I grew up in Taiwan, which I call my ‘hometown’. Having attended an international school over there, I was surrounded by various cultures and came to respect and embed the notion of ‘diversity’. As I fulfilled my personal and professional aspirations in universities in the western part of the world, I was once again lucky to have been exposed to a multicultural experience throughout this time. I gained a wealth of personal friendships during my time away from home and I travelled to various parts of the world. One of my favourite cities is New York. I have gained a love for travelling to different places and always look forward to a getaway. However, my notion of a holiday now comprises of being at a sunny beach resort with my husband and son.
