University Degree: Sport and Exercise Sciences, PGCE
After graduating with a degree, I completed my teacher training through Teesside University’s PGCE Programme at High Tunstall College of Science. I taught PE in the UK for several years throughout both Primary and Secondary education. This provided me with the experience of teaching across all 4 key stages of the English National Curriculum, including GCSE.
In 2016, I decided to embark on a career internationally, joining the Nord Anglia family of schools. Here, I led the delivery of PE at The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun and managed the schools’ extra-curricular programme. I am very excited to be joining The British School of Guangzhou, an opportunity I grasped with both hands. I am very eager to pass on my sporting knowledge, passion and enthusiasm to the students of BSG.
Outside of the working environment, I remain a sport-orientated individual. Although a keen all-round sportsman, my primary sport is football. I am also a fitness fanatic, where I enjoy working out up to 5 times a week in the gym. Aside from staying active, I enjoy experiencing new cultures and exploring different places in both China and across Asia. However when I do get the opportunity to rest, I enjoy nothing more than relaxing with my cat Barney.
