BA, PGCE
After I qualified with a degree, I began working in a local school in Cape Town for 2 years. Whilst Cape Town will always be the place I call home, I also loved the idea of travelling and exploring new, interesting and exotic locations and combining this with my passion for teaching; this led me to pursue a career in international education. Initially I moved to Kuwait, teaching at an international British school for 3 years. Whilst in the school I was able to take on a variety of rewarding roles and responsibilities, including become the Year Leader for Year 3 and leading school drama productions. These roles helped build my appreciation for both how children learn inside and out of the classroom as well as give me a greater insight into how to lead a successful team of teachers.
Living and teaching in Guangzhou for the past year made my decision to join the BSG team easy, as I knew I’d be joining a school with strong core values and ambitious philosophy similar to my own.
As I have mentioned I love travelling and nature, and working internationally has allowed me to visit and explore so many wonderful, exotic countries and build a deep appreciation for the world around us! From exploring jungles in Sri Lanka to abseiling off of Table Mountain in Cape Town my sense of adventure leads me all over the world! In addition to this I have a keen interest in a variety of food, reading, and sports, including Touch Rugby!
