Head of Business & Economics

BA (hons), PGCE

Having studied a Business Studies PGCE with QTS in the UK, I have worked hard to establish a reputation as a high-expectation teacher with over 8 years’ practice. I firmly believe that if you love the work that you do ‘you will never have to work a day in your life’, and it is this enthusiasm that I bring to school each day. I have been fortunate to have taught both in the UK and most recently in a high-achieving international school in Qatar and I relish having the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds and seeing them achieve their full potential.

Having previously traveled China in 2017, visiting numerous cities, the opportunity to work in the vibrant city of Guangzhou was an opportunity too good to be missed, not to mention the chance to work in the world renowned and prestigious Nord Anglia family of schools.

Having taken the opportunity to develop the curriculum for Business Studies in my former school, as well as introduce my own Flip Learning YouTube channel, I have always enjoyed playing a leading role in improving teaching and learning. I have a love for technology and a strong desire to utilise it within the classroom where possible. Learning is not just about developing a student academically but also their ‘skills for life’ to be successful and confident citizens in today’s modern and dynamic world.

Outside of school I believe in ‘work hard, play hard’. This is where my love for traveling was born and my long standing desire to work and experience life abroad. Whenever possible, I try to travel to new countries and get out of my comfort zone. I also love to taste different cuisines, with my favourites being Thai and Chinese food. Staying fit and healthy is also a big part of my life and I have a passion for Ashtanga yoga, which I have practiced for 6 years, and I also enjoy cycling & swimming. I also have a love for music and used to work as a semi professional DJ, having had the opportunity to play on the UK radio as well as various cities in the UK and abroad.
