As part of the Year 5 Topic on Healthy Habits, our students had a wonderful time this afternoon completing the Blind Taste Testing challenge.
Lots of delicious and sometimes unusual fruit and vegetables were sampled by the students including mint, basil, chicory, radish, yellow beetroot, dates, daikon, blueberries and celery. The students were extremely adventurous and confident with their tasting and several foods were tasted for the very first time. Well done Year 5!
A huge thank you to Laurent and the kitchen staff who created the diverse array of fruit and vegetables.
“It’s the first time I’ve tasted radish and at first it was very weird but then once I kept having a little bite it got familiar and eventually I liked it!” - Grace
“I tried ground cherry for the first time today. It tasted like a cherry but the texture was different and there was a little bit of taste of tomato. For some reason, I just assumed it was bad!” - Tudor
