For the Spring Term STEAM/MIT Challenge, BSB Sanlitun was tasked with investigating how extreme weather events are affected by the water cycle.
Each year group looked at a different extreme weather event and lots of investigations took place around school. Children also had the chance to ask the ‘Sea Sleuths’ expert, Dr. Caroline Ummenhoffer, some questions about how and why the water cycle impacts weather events.
We were all so proud to see that Dr. Ummenhoffer chose to answer a question from Ema in Year 5 Pelicans. Ema asked, “why does a blizzard relate to the ocean if the water is salty?”
You can watch the video above to see the response from Dr. Ummenhoffer.
Well done Ema for thinking in such a different and creative way!
