Superstar Readers at BSB

Superstar Readers at BSB

Great news! We have had over 1,200 books checked out in the last 2 months on OverDrive for Primary School! (from 07/09/2018 to 07/11/2018).

Overdrive statistics 540x329

Some great reading has been taking place- all to help our students improve their skills and perform better at school.

Well done to all of the parents who have encouraged their child to read books!

More reading leads to-

  1. Increases in brain function and emotional intelligence
  2. An expansion of vocabulary
  3. Better comprehension
  4. Building of self-confidence
  5. An improvement in writing skills
  6. Students performing better at school

OverDrive is a free service for our Primary student community. Now is the perfect time to access OverDrive with your child and borrow a book through the Sora app. We have over 600 titles, including fiction, non-fiction, audio books and read-alongs. The read-alongs are great for our new readers and younger students as the story is narrated while the words are highlighted, allowing children to follow along. The advantage of BSB’s online library is that you can access it anytime, anywhere! Perfect for while you are relaxing at home or travelling. Once you have downloaded the book to the app, you do not need to access Wi-Fi to read it.

Every student can borrow 2 books at once! They have their log-in details inside their reading record.

There are some great videos to help you get started with the new Sora app- just click the + sign next to Sora in the link below-

If you need any assistance in using the online library, please contact me- You can also bring in your device and your child’s login details and I can assist you to get started.

Happy Reading!
