On Friday the 8th March we celebrated our IB Art exhibition at BSB Shunyi!
Titled “6” after our six incredible students and the fact that 6 (六, LIÙ) = LUCKY. The number 6 is generally considered to be lucky in China because 六 sounds like 流 (liú), which means "flow" in Chinese. The students presented a professional exhibition of their body of work; each student followed an individual theme of their own selection.
The IB Art programme challenges students to work in a range of media, including; two dimensional, three dimensional and lens-based media. In addition, it encourages a personal response and an understanding of cultural diversity. Our students did an incredible job exploring themes such as Identity, The Feminine, Beauty and Emotional Expression. They were complimented on the wide range of themes and the variety of artworks on display.
A big congratulations to our Year 13 students: Jil Schorowsky, Veronika Janečková, Nancy Louise Billingham, JieShan Cheyenne Tan, Hyoweon Kim and JeHun Jang and on their incredible achievement.
