Students in Year 6 have started 2021 by demonstrating outstanding adaptability and resilience as they have resumed online learning. Learning online has allowed students to further develop independence and be responsible for their own learning by attending online sessions and ensuring work is handed in on time. Students have shown wonderful enthusiasm during live teaching sessions and have worked incredibly hard to produce ‘Ambitious’ work.
This term in Topic, students will be exploring natural disasters, how they are caused and how we can protect ourselves from their effects. An important aspect of understanding natural disasters, is knowing how the Earth is structured. Students demonstrated amazing creativity by producing work related to the layers of the Earth. We had students use clay models, colourful clothes, food and digital apps to represent the layers. We also explored how tectonic plates interact by using biscuits, waffles and cream!
These are examples of how online learning can be engaging, fun, allow students to be creative and most importantly continue to Be…Ambitious!
