Dear Parents,

I write to inform you that we have just been notified by the authorities that as part of the continuing Covid-19 control measures in Beijing we must move to Virtual School Experience (VSE)  with immediate effect. To be absolutely clear, there will be no on-campus classes and the school bus service has been suspended until the school campus reopens.

  • Friday 29th April, 2022 – VSE
  • Monday 2nd May, 2022 – Holiday
  • Tuesday 3rd May, 2022 – VSE
  • Wednesday 4th May 2022 – VSE

Thursday 5th May, 2022 we will alert you if we are able to return to school on campus.

Students who are taking external examinations in Year 13 will receive further information through Managebac.

I am pleased to say that we have been preparing for this eventuality for some time now. Students will be able to join their classes tomorrow using Teams or to collect resources and equipment from school.  You will receive further details about VSE from the Primary School or Secondary School Head.

If you have any questions or concerns about the VSE please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher initially.  For more general enquiries contact:

Early Years: Mihaela Chesaru (mihaela.chesaru@britishschool.org.cn)

Primary School (Years 1 – 6): Nonie Adams (nonie.adams@britishschool.org.cn)

I will write again with further updates as we receive them. In the meantime, I thank you for your support in these challenging times. This situation will pass, and we look forward to finishing the school year together again in person.

Yours sincerely,

Jayne Needham
