A Global Celebration: International Day at BSB Shunyi!

Organised by our incredible PTA in partnership with the school, the event offered students and families a wonderful opportunity to proudly share their cultural heritage.

What made the day so special was not simply the presence of many cultures — it was the way our community shaped the celebration themselves. Parents and teachers came together to plan, contextualise and bring the day to life, creating a genuine sense of belonging for everyone involved. 

Through sharing, learning and connecting, our students deepened their understanding of culture and of one another. 

This is what multiculturalism looks like in practice: recognising and celebrating the different cultures present within our community. But international-mindedness goes further — it develops our capacity to engage meaningfully across those differences and to learn from and with one another.

In a genuinely international school, intercultural understanding should be something students experience and live, not simply something we talk about. Days like this make that principle visible in the everyday life of our school. Thank you to all involved — you made our day!
