For the attention of Early Years Parents:

Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you and your families well.

I am writing further to my previous general parent updates with information relating specifically to our youngest BSB students. Our Early Years teachers, teaching assistants and support staff are all working extremely hard to maintain a high-quality provision, with a range of activities designed to keep children stimulated and actively learning. This is crucial during this period of school closure in order to maintain the momentum necessary for young minds to stay alert and engaged. We firmly believe that there is significant benefit to the children in terms of maintaining uninterrupted learning during this period and that our Virtual School Experience (VSE) for Early Years is a key part of ensuring that continuity.

Many parents are keen for us to continue offering the best education for our youngest students and we will continue to do so. That said, we fully appreciate that there are considerable challenges facing very young children when engaging with online learning. With that in mind, we propose to offer a 25% tuition fee discount for all Early Years pupils for each full week that the school campus is closed, and VSE is in place. This discount will be credited to the next school year’s billing cycle.

We hope that this will go some way to recognising the challenges that parents and our youngest students are facing currently.

We continue to look for other ways to support further and still hope that, if the campus is accessible, we may be able to offer summer camp as was offered in previous years to our youngest students.

We also understand that VSE might not work for every family, and we will work with you to find the best solution for you and your child. If you would like to discuss this further, please get in touch with me directly and I will be pleased to help you.

Our outstanding teachers are dedicated to providing the best education for your child while our campus is closed for on campus learning. We very much hope that your child will continue to enjoy the wonderful opportunities for learning that their teachers are providing. Our doors may be closed but we remain open for learning.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school and returning to our normal routine as soon as we can.

Kind regards,

Jayne Needham
