In Primary, our goal is to provide our students with outstanding writing lessons that foster children’s development and success in writing. To achieve this, we have adopted the Talk for Writing approach (designed by world-renowned Pie Corbett) which has been successfully implemented at our school for several years. Continuously adapted to meet the evolving needs of our students, the Talk for Writing approach empowers students to be confident writers and write for a variety of audiences and purposes.
From Year 3 to Year 6, students also participate in our bespoke Wicked Writing sessions. Wicked Writing offers students the freedom to choose the genre to write in, drawing inspiration and ideas from what they have learnt about in different lessons. Students also have the opportunity to reflect on their writing skills and identify areas that require improvement.

The British School of Beijing recently hosted BritMUN 2025, a Model United Nations (MUN) event that highlights the exceptional organisational and leadership skills of our students. This year's conference was a remarkable success, attracting student delegates from many different schools across Beijing, including the British School of Beijing, the International School of Beijing, Dulwich College Beijing, and Beijing World Youth Academy.
