Year 3 enjoyed an exciting field trip to the China Museum of Science and Technology on 19th April, 2023. This was a great opportunity for students to reinforce all of the scientific knowledge and theory that they’d been learning throughout the year so far and see some of it in action.
The museum included green energy and conservation, where displays showed renewable energy and recycling. In the physics area students could review what they’d learned about forces in term 1. The robotics and space rooms showed students a glimpse of the future while the biology area fit in well with our current topic on Under the Sea!
Highlights of the trip included a robot that mimics your movements, a virtual reality experience and exploring forces through different small experiments.
Here’s what some of our students learn about the trip!
“I learned that robots can interact with humans now.“
“I could see how far sound can travel”
“My favorite part of the museum was the virtual reality machine because I’ve always wanted to try this.”
When discussing how we could use what we’d learned to help the current ocean problems: “We could design a robot fish to help us clean the ocean of plastic“
