Secondary CCA 2023-2024 Season 1 Sign Up Parent Information

Dear Parents,

Our first season of CCAs will be starting Monday 18th September. I hope your child is excited for the opportunity to try a new experience this season. We have a wide variety of activities available.

Our CCAs run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Secondary sports take place on a Monday or Friday as well). They take place directly after school from 3:35pm to 4:30pm. Students who take CCAs will return home on the school bus at 4:30pm rather than 3:30pm. Sports CCAs finish at 5:30pm and student will return home the "late late bus" 5:30pm.

Information on all the buses that your child will take to come home will be sent directly to you.

CCAs provide the opportunity to experience different skills, ideas and hobbies as well as exploring new areas of interest. They are also a fantastic way to meet people from different year groups and backgrounds with whom they may normally not easily get the chance to interact.

Selecting CCAs and Sign-Up dates

Please note that although children can submit choices there is no guarantee that they will receive spaces for all 3 days. We will ensure that every child will get at least 1 activity.

Secondary Students can sign up for as many CCAs as they would like.

Signing up for our CCAs is online through our SOCS system. We use a system that allows parents to select their preferences for their child’s CCAs. Parents will be able to indicate their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices for CCAs and the system will assign these selections once the sign-up date closes. It will attempt to give all families their first and second choice and will distribute out other choices if a CCA is fully booked. When you log on to the system, you will find instructions on how to complete your choices. The system will automatically assign your child to a CCA if they do not receive their choice. Please choose ‘No Activity’ if you do not want that to happen. Your last choice should be ‘No Activity’ on each day. We will try to ensure that every child has at least 1 first or second choice, however, this isn’t always possible depending on the popularity of certain CCAs.

To login you should select ‘Parent’ when you log in and use your own email address. This would be the email address that you receive communications from BSB. Instructions on how to set this up are attached to this email.

If you have any problems logging in, please click the 'Forgot Password' option and you will be able to reset the password.

A reminder: please remember to also sign up for the school bus if you wish your child to use the bus to return home.

Sign up will open on Friday 1st September at 4pm. Sign up will close on Wednesday 6th September 5pm. It is important to sign your child up to any CCAs they are interested in during that period. Once we close the sign-up options, it is difficult to add students and most CCAs may be full.

Sport CCAs
