We are proud to be part of Nord Anglia Education’s family of 80+ international schools in more than 30 countries worldwide. The four Beijing Nord Anglia Schools came together on the 29th and 30th May for an U11 Sports Festival of Athletics, Football and T-Ball hosted by BSB Shunyi. Nearly 130 students competed in the event mixing in friendly competition against each other.
Congratulations to the Winners and everyone who participated!
Athletics was a round robin of running, jumping and throwing events with a team shuttle relay as well. All the students showed great determination to produce their best performances and score as many points as possible for their team.
Day 1 - School shuttle relays rounded this event off on the morning of Day 1. BSB won 1st place, with NAS Shunyi a close second, and BSB Sanlitun third. In the afternoon, the football tournament took place with boys and girls playing in separate events. There were many close games and teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship was clearly in evidence, no more than in the boys final that was won in extra time “golden goal”. BSB Shunyi came 1st in the boy’s event and BSB Sanlitun in the girl’s.
Day 2 was mixed T-Ball day and nine round saw matches saw each squad play each other before the finals in the afternoon. Teams battled it out in one innings high stakes games and BSB 1 and NAS Shunyi contested the final with BSB Sanlitun 1 and 2 teams reaching the 3rd / 4th playoff. NAS Shunyi came out victorious outscoring BSB Shunyi 1 by 15 points to 12. BSB Sanlitun 2 beat BSB Sanlitun 1 to the bronze.
The two days was an excellent showcase of Nord Anglia Beijing U11 Sport and all the students represented their school and Nord Anglia with honor, good humour and also the ups and downs of success and failure that individual and team sport can generate.
A big thank you to BSB and all the school support in running the event. All schools are hoping to be able to travel in the Summer of 2025 to a Nord Anglia China Multi Sport Games.
