BA Hons, CELTA
Goetz havs a BA Hons from Northumbria University , UK and a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) from Cambridge.
Since joining BSB Shunyi in February 2022, Goetz has come to know the school and many of the friendly and professional people that make it a success. Most of all, the students entrusted in his care have made a tremendous impression on him. As a GPS supply Teacher and as German Lead Teacher for the Early Years group, he was amazed at the talent and variety of learning that they display. Goetz took on the role as German LOTE Teacher starting in August 2022. He is very thankful for the support and opportunity to work alongside the German teaching staff at BSB Shunyi. It’s a continuous adventure and he welcomes every day.
Prior to joining BSB, Goetz worked for over 5 years at Training Centers and Weekend schools as a Primary English & Humanities Teacher in various locations in Beijing. He also has experience leading group classes in the age group ranging from 3-5, 6-8, as well 9-11. As a mentor to students entering their diploma years and preparing them for their university application, he is fortunate to have glimpsed at the entirety of K12 education here in China.
Goetz grew up in Beijing during the late 80s and 90s when there were just a handful of international schools. Since returning from Europe and starting a family, he can truly call this city his home. Therefore, he delights in the students he meets who remind him of himself who might not yet be sure of where home is. Goetz feels connected to them and somehow obliged to help them discover and fulfil their potential. He is also an Assistant Scuba Dive Instructor from PADI Asia Pacific.
