What a magical week it has been in the BSG theatre! Across three mornings, Year 2 and Year 3 filled the stage with music, storytelling and Christmas cheer in their performances of The Night Before Christmas. Each show had its own character, but all three were united by one thing: children giving their very best and having a brilliant time doing it.
The performances were full of confidence, energy and joy. The children spoke clearly, sang beautifully and remembered their cues with real professionalism. Many of them showed new skills and newfound confidence that have grown steadily over the term, and seeing that come together on stage was something very special.
These productions are a genuine team effort. Our Performing Arts team have helped build strong musicality and movement, and the Year 2 and 3 teams have worked closely together to bring the lines, transitions and staging to life. Behind the scenes, everything from lighting and sound to props and costumes helped create three polished and memorable shows. A big thank you also to the PSG for helping the school look wonderfully festive - it added so much to the atmosphere.

One of the nicest things about these productions is that they aren’t separate from the rest of our curriculum. The performances grow out of the story work, the music lessons, the drama skills and the collaboration the children practise every day. This week showed just how well our students rise to a challenge when we give them something meaningful and exciting to work towards.
It was fantastic to welcome so many families into school. Your support and encouragement meant a great deal to the children, who were all incredibly proud to perform in front of you.
