Secondary Weekly Updates (5/9 - 9/9) Summary of Secondary School's News in Week 2 of September/2022.

Welcome to BVIS Secondary Update.

In Humanities

Year 7 have been learning about Southeast Asia in their Humanities lessons. They’ve undertaken a group project exploring the countries that make up the area of the world in which we live. Our fastest Year 7 students can name all 11 countries and their capital cities in under 13 seconds! Very impressive!

Year 8 Humanities, the students have been continuing to learn about the Tudors. They’ve explored the Queen Mary I or Bloody Mary as she is known, and they have been debating whether she deserves this gruesome nickname!

Global Perspectives

In Year 11 Global Perspectives, students have been working on their Team Projects. They have come up with some great ideas for their projects. They will be creating presentations to our ks3 students on the topics such as Water Shortages, The Black Lives Matter movement and Mental Health.

In Drama

The cast of this year's School Musical are now in full rehearsal mode. Pupils from y7-13 are working hard to present their production of Shrek Jr to their audience in Decemeber. Ticket information will be released soon!

Mid-Autum Assembly

We had a wonderful celebration of the mid-autumn moon festival today. It was great to see so many students and staff dressed in ao dai and hanbok to commemorate this festival of thanks, family and prayer.  It was so lovely to see some of our Vietnamese and Korean students performing wonderful songs and dances - it was a true celebration of the meaning of the autumn festival.
