At Collège du Léman we are committed to recognising academic excellence amongst our students. We are very excited to propose 4 High School Academic Scholarships for the school year 2020-2021. The winning students exhibit strong leadership skills, involvement in the school community, and demonstrate an outstanding level of academic performance.

While we are currently reviewing applications for next school year, we would like to look back at one of last year’s winners and celebrate Noa Cohen-Dumani for her enthusiasm and ambition for learning, by giving her the chance to highlight her achievements. Congratulations, Noa!

“My CDL story began when, as a shy and introverted little girl, I entered my 3rd Grade class holding on tightly to my cousin’s hand. Knowing how timid I was back then, this school must have quite the magical powers to have turned me into the person I am today. 10 years later, I was overjoyed and honored to receive CDL’s academic scholarship. Not only is it an amazing feeling of recognition, but the application process itself has made me realize the extent to which my experiences at CDL have shaped me.

Little Noa would never have been capable of being a house captain, a class representative, a member of the Tanzania Global Expedition nor the president of the National Honor Society (NHS) leading a group of 60 students. Obtaining a scholarship further encouraged me to make the most out of what CDL has to offer. Being part of the NHS has especially pushed me to pursue this intention. From organizing International Days to tutoring younger students, I had the privilege of remaining at the core of our school community whilst seeing it thrive. For instance, one of my objectives was to raise awareness for mental wellness at CDL. Although our Mental Health Week had to be cancelled this year, we were fortunate to be able to work with school counselors in order to create a student blog to support students.

I know that I would not have been able to contribute to these experiences or achieve accomplishments such as these without the support of my incredible teachers and friends. I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities CDL has provided. This school has gifted me with an excellent education, but most importantly, with a second home and a second family.

As I prepare to leave CDL, I realize that it sometimes takes being away from a place that you love to realize just how much you miss it.”
