Ecology peer teaching Our Grade 11 students built and implemented fantastic insect hotels into our EcoGarden with the help of our curious Preschool students.

Our motivated Grade 11 students, studying Ecology, built and implemented fantastic insect hotels into our EcoGarden with the help of our curious Preschool students and dedicated teachers, as part of a cross-section learning activity.

Our Grade 11 students are currently covering a topic on Ecology. During their planning/creativity session, the idea to potentially implement collaboration and cross-section learning with students from Preschool arose.

The idea was to build "insect hotels" to install them into the school's Eco-Garden with the help of the younger students. This fit in perfectly with the "spring" topic that PS3 students are currently learning about and the project went ahead. The High School students were also able to lead a discussion about the importance of insects in our ecosystems.

Both year groups thoroughly enjoyed the innovative and insightful project. Congratulations to everyone involved! Check out some of the photos below.
