Week in Review 10 November 2014

Friday/Saturday/Sunday U15 FOBISIA @ St. Andrews Green Valley, Thailand

  • Swimming: 3rd Overall
  • Athletics: 5th Overall
  • Boys Football: 4th
  • Girls Football: 2nd
  • Boys Basketball: 6th
  • Girls Basketball: 4th

The U15 FOBISIA team returned yesterday evening with some slight dramatics as the bus broke down on the way to the airport in Bangkok but we ended up running through the airport and made our flight. This is only our second U15 games, highlights would be the 3rd overall finish for boys/girls in swimming. Athletics was a slight disappointment but we finished 9 points from 3rd place which show how close it was for athletics. Girls basketball in the 3rd/4th game final, the girls were up by 1 point under a minute to play. The team were against Kolej Tuanku Ja Afar, Malaysia (KTJ) who made a last second shot to win the game at 12-10. KTJ will definitely be a good rival for BSB in this division as we were up against them throughout much of the games going back in forth in the final standings for just about all the sports. Lastly, on the girls football side, we finished 2nd. Playing some incredible football on all levels only to be outmatched by the host school St. Andrews who had two national players on their team. These games were a great experience for the team given some very difficult conditions with the high heat and for example playing basketball outside in the sun which is typically not normal.
