Classroom News & Photos - Year 2

08 January 2015

This week, Year 2 has started their topic on chocolate and the children have brought in some chocolate from their home country or a country they have visited over the Christmas holidays.

To begin our topic the children had a chocolate tasting and chocolate games session with the whole year group getting involved. We had a Chocolate: True and False Quiz, Guess the Chocolate Bar competition, Design your own Chocolate Bar and opportunities for the children to  taste lots of different kinds of chocolate from around the world and talk about the difference and similarities in taste, smell, texture and look of each.

The children really enjoyed the tasting and this has got us really excited to learn more about where chocolate comes from, how it is made, how and when it was discovered and to experiment with the different materials and states related to it in science.
