Our Autumn Adventures in Reception
This week in Reception we have been exploring the changing season! Autumn is very short in Beijing but, we have been making the most of the lovely weather, the low pollution and enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. All classes when on a leaf hunt around the school. We saw leaves changing colour from green, to yellow and then brown. Some trees even had reddish leaves. We watched leaves fall from the tree as it prepares for winter. Back in class we have been painting leaves for a display in the EYFS corridor – come by and have a look.
We have also been singing the song “Autumn Days’ and discussed the idea of being grateful. It was lovely to hear the children list their family members (as well as toys) as something they want to say thank you for. We loved expanding our senses by searching for fall objects in squishy jello, building habitats with leaves, sticks and mud and also “baking” with cinnamon scented play dough.
Look out for more adventures in Autumn in the weeks to come.
