4pm Update from Mr. Hartland
After yesterday's practice, things heated up in Sanya for year 11 today. After an early (and large) breakfast, we headed up into the mountains. Students took control of the navigation using the GPS skills they learnt yesterday and headed out for a distant waterfall. Unfortunately, they didn't make it and ended up halfway up a mountain! Still, the view was exceptional.
Once we got down to the real world, we all grabbed a kayak and headed out into a mountain lake. We practiced C-turns, reverse paddling and t-recoveries, all vital skills that we will need tomorrow when we head out into the sea.
Right now, we are heading to our campsite on Coconut Island. We need to pitch our tents, build our campfire and cook our dinner. After that....sleep.
