Last week, the GK1, GK2, GK3 and GK4 children learnt about Halloween in their English class. Before the class, the children helped decorate their classrooms for Halloween and couldn't wait for the class to start. We started with learning the words associated with the holiday and discussed when and how Halloween is celebrated.

Then the children chose the masks or hats they wanted to wear in class and all of them were very excited about dressing up as witches, vampires, pumpkins, pirates, ghosts and bats. The children were very keen to share their stories of how they celebrated Halloween last year and what costumes they wore. We also shared our ideas about what we want to dress up as for Halloween this year and later the children drew and wrote about their costumes.

Of course, there were some spooky ghost stories. My favourite one was The Pink Jellybean ghost story which turned out not scary at all and we all got to eat some delicious jelly beans!

“I liked it because you scared us!” Sabine from GK3 said. Ilka, Angelina and Rebekka from GK4 said they enjoyed dressing up and going trick-or-treating most of all.

All the children had a lot of fun and were very excited about going trick-or-treating on Halloween!
