As part of the Global Campus Language Challenge, the Year 7 students put themselves in their teachers’ shoes this week by delivering a 30 minute lesson to the Year 6 pupils. They spent three lessons and some worked during their lunch to prepare for the challenge. What a commitment! The class was divided into two groups. The girls wanted to share what they thought were essential French phrases when visiting France while the boys focused on introductions and numbers. Both teams did a superb job teaching phrases they were not always familiar with and planning fun activities for the Year 6 students to complete.
The lessons were filmed by other students and the videos will be sent to the Global Campus Language Challenge team. We are all hoping to be selected to be part of a Showcase which will be created by the Global Campus team.
By the end of their lesson, the students acknowledged that while they had a great time teaching, being a teacher is not always easy. However they were not deterred and are planning to repeat the experience later on during the year if they can.
We would like to thank all the Year 6 students and their teachers for allowing us to make this happen.
Bravo à tout le monde!
