Sports Update

11 February 2015

It has been an incredible busy and fun week at BSB with both the U19 Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (U19 ACAMIS) basketball & Association of International Schools in Asia (AISA) Math Mania and Leadership Conference. In total amongst ourselves (BSB), we hosted 11 international schools from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, & Japan. Teams began arriving Wednesday night on 28th January and everyone departed home on Sunday 1st February throughout the day. The ACAMIS competition was the third time we have hosted within our Division “Gold” and first for basketball. We will also host the U19 ACAMIS Gold Division Soccer Championships from 16th to 18th April. This was also our first AISA event and we look forward to participating in the AISA Soccer Championships at The Korean International School/ Seoul International School (KIS/SIS) from  9th to 11thApril.

Please take a look at the BSB website/BSB ACAMIS website/BSB Facebook for additional updates and pictures of the two events. ACAMIS: http://acamisbsb.wix.com/gold-basketball & https://www.facebook.com/#!/britishschoolbeijing

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone for all of their support and help these past weeks to make these events the success they were. But more importantly, I  would like to once again thank all the PE teaching staff who worked the whole ACAMIS tournament as well as Paul Readdy, Peter Carlisle, & David Mounter for all of their help, set-up, and organization for the AISA event. Again greatly appreciated to these individuals and the overall BSB community. Thanks everyone.

Finally, Season 3 is well underway with fixtures & games already being played this week. U19/U16 football for boys/girls and U14/U13/U12 basketball. U13 FOBISIA is finishing up their trainings with the squad scheduled to depart for the games in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday 11th   March and return back to Beijing Monday 16th March.  Please look for more updates for all of these sports.
