Classroom News & Photos - Year 3

Year Three’s second topic started off with an amazing archaeological dig. Children arrived at school expecting a normal day but were confronted with the task of becoming archaeologists for the day. They completed several challenges to prove they had the skills needed to do the job and then set out digging to find some Ancient treasures.

Children found some wonderful artifacts and we discussed what period of time they might have come from. When we returned to the Year 3 corridor and found a pyramid and a mummy, children knew that their next topic was going to be Ancient Egypt. We even had a talk from Mr Hughes in the afternoon who knows lots about archaeology.

Since the beginning of the topic children have been busy learning all about Ancient Egypt but have also been learning how to set up their own blogs, twist traditional tales and recognise light sources and reflective materials. In the midst of this, children have begun rehearsing for their performance in March! A very busy half term with much more to come!
