Year 6 have already started their transition work and are feeling excited about their move into secondary. During the next few months, the year group will have two or more lessons a week covering a variety of different subjects. We hope that by having a transition over a few months, the children will feel comfortable in their new environment and will have the opportunity to ask any questions they want to.
In the last few weeks, Year 6 have started blocks in art and science in secondary and have taken part in a Design & Technology (DT) project. They have explored Cubism in greater detail in art and used a variety of techniques when sketching. One child said, ‘Cubism is so near to us historically, it’s fantastic to learn about it.’ The children worked very hard in groups in science and DT and thoroughly enjoyed their time. There will be a move up morning for the Year group in early June.
