Parent Update Meetings on Thursday 9th April

25 March 2015

Dear Parents,

Parent Update Meetings on Thursday 9th April

I have no doubt that many of you have been following the significant developments at BSB over the past few months, and you also know that the door is always open if you wish to discuss anything at all.

However, it has occurred to me that it is sometime since we had a meeting to inform you of what is happening, and also what is planned for the future. In Secondary, this includes our continued success in promoting high academic standards as well as reporting back on the implementation of the IB Diploma; in Primary, the developments in the British National Curriculum and our response to it are now very important for our future direction. But there is much more than this – we have further plans for building development, some great new opportunities for our students, and some new teachers for next year to introduce (although our staff turnover will be much lower this year than it has been in the past).

Most of all, however, we want this to be an opportunity for us to get your feedback and answer your questions on whatever topic you may wish.

I should therefore very much like you to attend one of these meetings, both of which take place on THURSDAY 9 APRIL:

8.45am – there will be coffee/tea and pastries available from 8.30am and the meeting will last for approximately one hour, with short presentations from myself and the Heads of Primary and Secondary School, followed by questions and discussion.

6.30pm – with coffee/tea available from 6pm and a similar format to the meeting, but obviously with a chance for working parents to also attend.

Later in the term, we will offer similar meetings to nationality groups where parents may have more difficulty with meetings conducted solely in English. Please do let us know if you think this would be useful for you and we will certainly try to meet demand wherever it may exist.

With very best wishes for the short Spring Break holiday and for the summer ahead.

Andy Puttock

Principal
