Sport Update

11 September 2015

Sport is really in full swing for both Secondary & Primary with again record turn-outs!

On the U19 Volleyball side we have over 70 students playing. The U19 Girls Varsity and JV teams as well as Boys JV have already played 2 matches in their ISAC Divisional schedules and the Varsity boys first match is Monday 14th September at BSB.

U14 Football will be playing in all 6 ISAC Football exchanges this Saturday 12th September. BSB is hosting the U14 D1 girls and U12 girls. U14 teams kick off at 9AM followed by U12 teams at 10:20AM at BSB. Primary had their first training on Tuesday for football (Y6/5/4/3)and Thursday for Cross Country (Y6/5/4) & Athletics (Y4/3).

We have had over 130 students signed up to play primary football and over 50 students signed up to train for primary cross country and athletics. Again, just incredible turn-out this year on the primary side.

Looking at the turn-out for swimming (Aqua-Bears), our biggest increase from last year has been in secondary with steady growth in numbers for primary and our mini-bears swim programs. We have well over 100 students swimming on one of the three AquaBears swim teams at BSB. Our first Swim Meet is scheduled for Saturday 19th September.

Lastly, selections for ACAMIS U19 Volleyball (Boys/Girls) will be finalized by 23rd September.

U15 FOBISIA (Boys/Girls) Try-Outs have concluded this week with the squad announced and training to begin Monday 21st September.

Our First and hopefully annual BIS Phuket 7’s Soccer Tournament for Y8/7 & U5/6 (Boys/Girls) students is being finalized as I write this Sport update with plans to finalize by 25th September.

We aim to have all of our Sport trips and Team selections finished by the start of the October Holiday.
